Terms and Conditions

1. Bookings:
A provisional booking can be made by telephone or email and held for ten (10) days only until a booking form and a non-refundable deposit are received. We require 20% from groups and 10% from private bookings.

2. Confirmation of the booking:
The Centre will confirm the booking following receipt of a completed and signed booking form and payment of the deposit. For group bookings, we will send you a form, eight (8) weeks before your visit requesting final numbers for the cabins and communal facilities that you will require. Four weeks before your booking we might be able to offer extra facilities if they are available but cannot reduce your rent for units that are no longer needed unless we are able to re-let them to others.

3. Payment of Balance of Rent:
For group bookings, the balance of the rent is payable on or before arrival together with any additional hire costs. For private bookings, the balance of rent is due six (6) weeks before the beginning of the stay. If the balance of rent is not received by that date The Jonas Centre reserves the right to re-let the accommodation. Payment can be made by either cheque or debit card. Payments made by credit card will be subject to an additional charge of 3%. The cost of a booking is inclusive of VAT at the current rate. Please note that any variations to VAT charges may affect the final invoice.

4. Cancellations:
Any cancellations must be made in writing to The Jonas Centre, and are only effective on the date received. The Centre recommends that to safeguard the possible loss of part or all costs due to cancellation or curtailment that groups and individuals take out some form of cancellation or travel insurance. More details at www.freetime-travel-insurance.com . Cancellation of a booking or reduction in numbers for accommodation will be subject to the following charges:

a) Cancellation of a booking within twelve (12) weeks of a visit will be charged at 40% of the rent.
b) Cancellation of a booking made within eight (8) weeks of a visit will be charged at 60% of the rent.
c) Cancellation of a booking made within six (6) weeks of a visit will be charged at 80% of the rent.
d) Cancellation of a booking made within four (4) weeks of a visit will be charged at 100% of the rent.

5. Arrival & Departure Times:
The cabins will be available for occupancy from 3pm. Please advise the Jonas Centre in advance if arrival time is to be later than 5.00pm. Cabins should be vacated by 10.00am on day of departure unless agreed otherwise at the time of booking.

6. Additional Housekeeping Charge
We reserve the right to levy an additional housekeeping charge of a minimum of £50 if the facilities are not left in the condition in which they were found on arrival. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

7. Liability and Insurance:
a) The Jonas Centre assumes no liability for injury or death, damage to or loss of personal property, accident, delay, cancellation, irregularity or inconvenience caused,
save where such loss is caused or contributed to by the negligence of some person acting as a servant or agent of The Jonas Centre.
b) The Jonas Centre has Public Liability Insurance and Employers Liability Insurance. Groups are advised to have Personal Accident insurance cover and should contact their own insurance company.
c) Whilst using The Jonas Centre premises the group leader of the relevant group visiting the Centre accepts full responsibility for the members of their group's use of the premises or any outdoor activities at the Centre.

8. Rules:
When on site guests are requested to observe the following rules for the benefit of all guests:
. SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED IN ANY BUILDING;
. not to enter the fields or barns containing the animals;
. guests are requested to keep noise to an absolute minimum from 10 pm to 8.00 am. Please note the following will not be tolerated and could result in the Centre Manager asking the individual(s) responsible to leave the Centre:
. Taking or possession of illegal drugs;
. Tampering with electrical equipment/lighting;
. tampering with fire alarm systems (including covering or removing smoke detectors); letting off fire extinguishers;
. aggressive behaviour towards other guests or staff;
. fighting;
. theft/entering accommodation assigned to other groups or persons without permission;
. any action which causes distress to the animals;
. Drunkenness.
. Possession or consumption of alcohol under age. 
. All sickness and illness should be reported to the Centre Manager on duty as soon as possible. 
. Children should be supervised at all times by an adult. No child(ren) under the age of 16 should be left either in a cabin or on The Jonas Centre property unsupervised. The Jonas Centre and its staff cannot take responsibility for any unsupervised children. The number of persons occupying the cabin must not exceed the maximum number  stipulated on the booking form. 

9. Damage: 
Any breakages or damage to the Centre or its equipment should be reported at the earliest opportunity to the duty manager. Guests are responsible for the cost of repairs for any damage caused to the Centre's equipment and/or property. 

10. Accommodation: 
The Centre Manager on duty has the right to appoint a member of the Jonas Centre staff or external professional company to enter a cabin and rectify any necessary repair without prior notice if the need arises. 

11. Car parking 
Vehicles, their accessories and contents are parked on the Centre's property at the owner's risk. 

12. Pets: 
The Jonas Centre is happy to accept pets in the cabins. Pets must be booked in advance. A charge of £2 per night will be payable per pet. Registered assistance dogs are accepted free of charge. The Jonas Centre reserves the right to seek compensation for any damage and excessive cleaning costs caused by pets and ask that owners take a responsible attitude to ensuring that pets stay off the furniture, bedding etc. Pets are accepted on condition that they must not be left alone in the cabin, unless they have their own lockable animal cage, they must be on a lead whenever outside the cabin, they must be only exercised in the dog walk area and owners must pick up any mess made by their dog. 

13. Barbecues 
Please obtain the permission of the Centre Manager on duty before having a BBQ. 

14. Campfires 
Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should fires be lit anywhere in the vicinity of the cabins. Please check with the Centre Manager on duty for the location of the designated campfire area. 

15. Fireworks 
Fireworks are prohibited. 

16. General information 
On arrival all guests should report in the first instance to reception, signposted from the main entrance. 
Duvets and pillows are provided but guests should bring their own sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, towels etc.
Indoor shoes can also be a good idea to protect the cabins during wet and muddy times of the year. 
Please do not park anywhere on the grass. 
Please advise members of your party that pets cannot be left alone in properties. 
We stock a few essentials in the Centre shop but if you plan to shop for groceries on your way this will be best done in Leyburn or Hawes. 
A sheet with a map and directions to the Jonas Centre is available on request. 

17. Important information for Group Leaders 
a) If travelling to the Jonas Centre by coach please provide details of the coach company to be used so that location and parking details can be sent to them direct. 
b) A representative of the group should arrive at least an hour before the other members of the party to take charge of keys and set up the group's Reception area. 
c) Group leaders are responsible for ensuring high standards of conduct with their groups.The Jonas Centre reserves the right to ban any guests who persistently ignore the rules or act in a manner likely to affect the safety, comfort or well-being of other guests or staff. In such circumstances the Centre would require your full co-operation in arranging for group members to leave. No refunds will be given. 
d) Group leaders are responsible for the allocation of beds within the cabins they have booked. The number of persons occupying the cabins must not exceed the maximum number stipulated on the booking form. 
e) Based on the accommodation the Jonas Centre expects youth groups/schools to have atleast 2 adult leaders/teachers per 5 children, including males and females when the group is mixed. 
f) A designated group representative should be responsible for collecting all keys and checking the cabins have been left in the same condition as found on arrival before their departure.
